Winnie Dunn is a Tongan-Australian writer from Mount Druitt on Dharug Country. She is the general manager of Sweatshop Literacy Movement and the editor of several critically acclaimed anthologies including Sweatshop Women (2019) and Another Australia (2022). Winnie’s debut novel is Dirt Poor Islanders (2024). Winnie is this season’s feature interview.
Vanessa Proctor lives and writes on the land of the Darramuragal people. She is currently collaborating with UK artist Katherine Kingdon of fatbellypots, combining poetry and pottery. Her first book of free verse On Wonder was recently published by Walleah Press (2024). Read Vanessa’s poem.
Daniel Hurst is a freelance journalist working on Ngunnawal and Ngambri Country. His eight years of experience in the Federal Parliamentary Press Gallery included roles at Guardian Australia (until 2024) and previously The Age and Sydney Morning Herald. He also consults for a not-for-profit organisation focusing on climate action. Daniel’s latest for Meanjin is a timely catalogue of Peter Dutton’s falsehoods.
