Meanjin proudly honours artists’ rights. The copyright of each piece published in Meanjin belongs to the author, while copyright of the collection belongs to Meanjin.
Meanjin has converted the full backfile of Meanjin (1940– ) into scanned pages that can be accessed via the digital publishing house Informit. All creative works, articles and reviews converted to electronic format will be correctly attributed and will appear as published. Copyright will remain with the authors, and the material cannot be further republished without authorial permission. Meanjin will honour any requests to withdraw material from electronic publication. If any author does not wish their work to appear in this format, we ask that they contact us immediately and their material will be withdrawn.
Payment
Meanjin pays competitive rates and regularly benchmarks with colleagues and peak bodies. Minimum payment for prose work in the printed journal is 30c per word, and $250 per poem. Payments for online-only articles vary. Payments include a 5% supplement to provide in advance for copyright entitlements that contributions may attract through the Copyright Agency. All Meanjin articles may be published on this website. Republication in other print and online publications is permitted on request to the author and editor.
