The hole

Tim Loveday

Autumn 2025

It took 17 meetings approximating 26.5 hours for the clients to agree to the hole and then another 7 meetings approximating 11 hours for us to agree on its location.

Another 5 meetings approximating 8.25 hours were needed to agree on a certified contractor of an appropriate skill level—and the allotment of budget given to them—and a further 4 meetings approximating 5.5 hours to get the contractor up to code. A further 13 hours were spent on the necessary paperwork, which would, in effect, allow the builders onto site, as well as approve my oversight of them there, which required another two hours of meetings with the builders in order to justify why this was, in itself, necessary. The following meeting, which took just under 3 hours, was spent discussing what would happen in the case of an event, i.e. an incident, i.e. an accident, i.e. if someone was mortally wounded.
