The story so far*

We begin at the end: Lillian’s family and friends witness her death. Then we go back in time and meet Sophie, Lillian’s sister, at her job table-top dancing in the city; Daniel, Lillian’s husband, brushes off the sense that something is looming. Martin, ex-lover of both Lillian and Sophie, out and about in the city, stumbles upon Sophie dancing up a storm; Sophie, under pressure, loses a shoelace and her mojo, and Jack, a customer, watches her slam dance. Lillian goes to the doctor, Daniel plays cards with the boys, and then Lillian, waiting for the news about her health, understands that they are all inexorably setting off into something new.
