Welcome to Sally Heath
Sophie Cunningham
December 10
I’m sure many of Meanjin’s fans will know this already, but on Wednesday MUP announced the appointment of Sally Heath as the journal’s ninth editor. Sally will take over the helm at the end of January. I had the good luck to be edited by Sally over many years when she was at the Age where she was a senior journalist, and, in recent years, editor of the A2. As well as being the publisher of many fine essays at the A2, she was the instigator of Marieke Hardy’s m-book, and blogged at A Season of Sundays. She’s an outstanding editor, a good friend, and I’m pleased Meanjin is in such good hands.

And here’s to another outstanding editor.
Well done on doing a brilliant job, Sophie. What a sparkling thing you are leaving behind…
Best of luck with the old rackety road of full-time writing, too. By God it’s hard, but aint it worth it…
And welcome Sally! Two of my fave people in the same post…I really like the fact that being back in Oz means meeting up with friends again on the literary round-about…

Firstly, congrats to Sally on her appointment. Can you say at this stage if Judith Beveridge will be retained as poetry editor, or are all positions up for review when Sally takes up her role at the end of the month?
