November 04
Type Camp are offering a wonderful opportunity for those interested in typography. Anyone, whether you're a beginner, a student or a trained professional, can register for an intensive ten-day workshop in Chennai, Tamil Nadu this December.
'Type Camp India will provide you with an opportunity to investigate and create while experiencing one of the most visually rich cultures in the world. Every morning is a studio and every afternoon is a workshop. You’ll visit local publishing houses, meet and work with street typographers, hold type walks in local markets, learn Tamil Calligraphy, and experiment with silkscreening, bookbinding, and printing. This is a camp that cares about exploration and context within typography. With typographic experts Dr Shelley Gruendler and Dr Rathna Ramanathan, you’ll expand your typographic abilities to create projects that will make your work stand out from your peers.'
There is currently one spot open (for a female typographer) due to a cancellation.
When: 10-20 December, 2009
Where: Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India
Cost: $2680 CDN
