The Reader

JA October 22

If you haven’t done so yet, go on down to Readings (or the Emerging Writers’ Festival website) and pick yourself up a copy of The Reader.

This is a beautifully laid out collection edited by Dion Kagan that presents highlights from the 2009 EWF – it’s a resource for emerging writers, a ‘how-to’ of advice and information and a collection of stories and experiences from both established and emerging authors, publishers and editors, as well as other literary movers and shakers

The Reader includes Steven Amsterdam (winner of the 2009 Age Book of the Year for Things We Didn't See Coming) on writer’s workshops; Krissy Kneen (Affection, Text Publishing, 2009) on writing about sex; Benjamin Law (the Monthly, Frankie) on failure; Kathy Charles (Hollywood Ending, Text Publishing, 2009) on shameless self-promotion; and Andrew Hutchinson (Rohypnol, 2007) on the Emerging Writers’ Festival and in-conversations with Christos Tsiolkas and Lally Katz, plus a long and exciting list of literary stars and about-to-be stars in Australian literature.

Sure have! It's a beautiful little package, can't wait to sit down this weekend and have a flick through. (:
