The Journal of Urban Typography
JA
November 10
The Journal of Urban Typography is a digital collection of DIY signs, words and fragments. As Julie Greicius from The Rumpus pointed out, usually you wouldn't look twice at one of these on the street, but together, in a series, there's a kind of wonderful accidental beauty to it all. The use of sometimes garish, sometimes drab urban colour, sloppy grammar and small quirks make for a fascinating browse. From what I can tell, most of the photos come from New York, and the site allows your to drag and remove at will to experiment with the overall look.
