The house of books
JA
August 29
Someone, somewhere, has built a house entirely of books (well, carvings of books anyway).
That someone is Italian carver and artist, Livio De Marchi, and that somewhere is Italy in 1990. He has also made this sculpture, entitled 'Casa di Libri', in Germany and in Japan. Nice touches are the fountain pen chimney and the book bed. Check out his website for more.

As fantastic as that is, I think I would be more impressed by a house made out of actual books.
If you wanted to read something, you could just yank it out of the wall.
Though your house would then end up being a bit more of a Jenga game than a house, and also everything would become rather soggy and unpleasant if it happened to rain heavily.
