Rally
Sophie Cunningham
November 10
The Printers and their Staff have organized a rally to support the Retention of Australian Copyright and Jobs in the Australian Publishing, Printing and Writing sectors.
Steve Gibbons the Member for Bendigo, Shane Maloneyand Michael Heyward will speak at the Rally which commences at 10am at the Commonwealth Parliamentary Offices 4 Treasury Place Spring St Melbourne – Wednesday 11 November.
This is our last opportunity to demonstrate that Australian Territorial Copyright is important to the majority of the book industry and attract sufficient media coverage to send a clear message to the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
The AMWU and the printers have demonstrated their commitment to our cause and it would be of value to ensure we have many publishing industry faces at the Rally.
Louise Adler of Melbourne University Press will be taking on Professor Alan Fels in Canberra at the National Press Club on the same day so a real focus will be on our industry.

I'm sure the event organiser has already looked into this and I'm just being paranoid, but I hope this won't clash with any Remembrance Day event they might be hosting at the Parliament.
