A few finds from the wonderful archives of Pink Tentacle (if Japanese art, design and robotics float your boat, I very much suggest you take a tour).
First up, 19th century medical woodblock prints, via the University of California.
Hōsō-e talisman print to ward off smallpox, artist unknown, circa 1849.
Eye, ear, nose and hand, Ochiai Yoshiiku, circa 1865.
And late 19th and early 20th century ads for beer and cigarettes:
Ad for Dai Nippon Brewery Company, 1912.
Ad for Urara Cigarettes, 1932.
Ad for Yebisu Beer, 1930.
