Manga Newspapers

Something a little different for your Sunday morning – the following images are from Manga no Shimbun, a Japanese website that reports all news in manga form. According to Wired, the site has around 100 artists working round the clock and updates 15 times a day. Articles range from hard news to sports, entertainment, crime and pop culture. Apparently, the paper was started in order to encourage young people to take an interest in current affairs again.

Is there a section of the site with English manga? This looks pretty amazing

It’s got to be the most labour intensive way of producing the news hasn’t it? Then again 15 updates a day is more than your average TV station.

The only English I could find was via the article on Wired, which flip from Japanese.
And yes definitely labour intensive, but I really like the idea of combining images/news. Reminds me of this: http://meanjin.com.au/spike-the-meanjin-blog/post/a-cool-new-journalism/
