Made for each other: short stories and the iPhone
JA
August 17
We’re very excited, and excitable, to hear that Sleepers have condensed all of their five (soon to be six) anthologies into one delicious iPhone app. As Zoe Dattner says in the below video, the mobile phone and the short story are pretty much a perfect match. Here’s more, and a sneak peak:
Sleepers Publishing iPhone Application from Sleepers Publishing on Vimeo.
The Almanac app (how’s that for dancing off the tip of your tongue?) includes stories by Steven Amsterdam, Kalinda Ashton, Jon Bauer, Daniel Ducrou, Carol Lefevre, Max Barry, Karen Hitchcock, Sean Condon, Cate Kennedy and others. It’s out Sept 1, followed by the official launch of The Sleepers Almanac No. 6 on Sept 2.

I’m very excited about this new publishing platform that the Sleepers gals have pulled us on to. What a beautiful and clever thing. Getting a short fiction into a printform Almanac was a blast. Sharing this digital space with all the other volumes, and interacting with readers and writers will blow my mind.
