Last night I sat down to watch the first episode of V). It's a series which is screening here on Sunday nights. I do love a bit of paranormal action. However the show seemed to be more a not-so-cloaked attack on the Obama administration. Anna, played by Morena Baccarin the beautiful, but evil alien, is, tall, thin, elegant and a little bit black, a little bit white. One of the first indications of her evil is revealed when she discussed the V's (visitor's) desire to set up healing centres around America. As the journalist (played by Party of Five's Scott Wolf) interviewing her says, indeed half gasps, 'you mean International Health Care?' Not just that, it seems the V's have been operating terrorist sleep cells all along - and, as Fox news has, ahem, noted, Obama really is quite keen on those Islamic types.

None of it is particularly subtle so it's not surprising this has been much commented on already notice this. The right are loving it and commending ABC on it's bravery. One last comment - the show is bad. If you want a bit of reptiles-taking-over-parliament-action, I'd recommend what you should be watching is a bit of Dr Who. It doesn't take itself quite so seriously.

Update: Obama overcomes reptilian slights and makes history: the health bill is passed.
