JA April 07

Varuna the Writers’ House, in collaboration with the Byron Bay Writers Festival and Picaro Press are launching two exciting initiatives for poets – a nationwide anthology and the opportunity for two writers to have their work published in a single collection.

Both initiatives are open to all residents in Australia and will run annually. Details are as follows:

BYRON BAY WRITERS FESTIVAL/PICARO PRESS: POETRY ANTHOLOGY

Writers of poetry at all levels of practice and achievement are invited to submit poems for an anthology of approximately 90 A5 pages, to be released by Picaro Press.

Submissions close on 30 April 2010 (applications must be postmarked by this date) and there is a fee of $45 (including GST) per application. Fees help to cover administrative costs and sustain the program.

BYRON BAY WRITERS FESTIVAL/PICARO PRESS POETRY COLLECTION (SINGLE AUTHOR)

New or emerging poets with sufficient work to be edited into a publication of 28 A5 pages are invited to submit for two single-authored collections, to be launched at the Byron Bay Writers Festival.

Submissions close on 30 April 2010 (applications must be postmarked by this date) and there is a fee of $45 (including GST) per application. Fees help to cover administrative costs and sustain the program.
