I can second 500 Days of Summer, though if you are anything like me and mine, you’ll fucking hate Zooey Deschanel’s character and all like her by the end of it.

I’ve always been partial to Amelie as well, but then Audrey Tautou just drives me wild.

I vote for ‘Truth about Cats and Dogs’ and ‘Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion’. Both star my favourite actor Janeane Garofalo.

Bridget Jones is a favourite of mine. And a second hand up for Clueless.

Bringing Up Baby for some awesome oldschool romcom.

Anything Austenish. Ten Things I Hate About You.

Woah! Agree times a hundred with Jess. Princess Bride = megawin.

What about some oldies like Sabrina (the Hepburn version) or Casablanca…

So many great suggestions I like the idea of Sabrina. I have never heard of Gun Shy. I’ll check it out. My friend is young – but I think the idea is to find a movie that women of all generations can enjoy. A night with grownups. So maybe not the High School Musical series – though I think that would be great to watch with my nieces.

I’m not 50 and my daughter is a lot younger than 12, but watching Meg demonstrate how to fake an orgasm? Really? Wouldn’t that lead to a five-hour discussion of feminism? Nothing wrong with that, but on a Friday night? Really?
