Buy yourself a Pussy Wagon

As Marieke Hardy wrote in the Drum yesterday, femininity is getting a bit of a drubbing at the moment. I am in the thrall of the siren song of Meanjin's three year business plan so can't write at length on this, however if you want to follow some of the Laura Bingle carry on read Peter Roebuck and Gerard Whateley. No prizes for which of those men I'd stand by. But the real question, which no one has been asking, is why the fuck was Bingle engaged in the first place? At only 22? Didn't her fling with Fevola make her question, in any way, the institution of marriage? What I really want to know is WHY IS EVERYONE GETTING ENGAGED AND GETTING MARRIED?
The kind of womanhood I'm more interested is Lady Gaga's. Smart, critical, funny, entertaining. Ladies, I suggest you watch her new video (below) and then go out and buy yourself a Pussy Wagon. Do note, as Mia Freedman so aptly put it: 'It’s not really safe for work this one. Unless you are a lesbian working in a women’s prison in which case it’s like totally fine.'

I haven't paid much attention to Lady Gaga up to now, but you've just made me a convert. That was wild.
