Overload Poetry Festival

The Overload Poetry Festival is on again in Melbourne from September 10-19. This year’s program includes events discussing the plight of poets whose words have been silenced, including an opening night’s keynote presentation from Judith Rodriguez. These issues will be further interrogated in a panel discussion on freedom of expression. Key performance event Azahares – A Tribute to Miguel Hernandez, will celebrate the life one of Spain’s most beloved and persecuted poets and an emblem of the Spanish Civil War.
